Canada Visa Guidelines
For all the international students planning to study in Canada, the Canadian government issues a valid study permit which is valid for the length of student's study program with an extended period of 90 days. These extra 90 days lets the student to prepare to leave Canada or apply for extend stay. Take a look at the steps to be followed while applying for the Canadian study permit.
Steps to apply for a Canadian Study Permit
1) Requirements for Canadian Study permit application

An offer letter/ acceptance letter from Designated Learning Institution (DIL)
-
Valid travel document such as passport

2) Apply for study permit online via Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC) website
Canada Study Visa Application fee: CAD 150+85 (Biometric charges)*.(Subject to Change)

3) Secure supporting documents and submit the application to Canada High Commission's website wherein documents include:

a. Offer letter/ letter of acceptance

b. Complete GIC process & payment of 1 year tuition fees
-
c. Provide English Language proficiency result such as IELTS, TOFEL.
*The list of documents might vary depending on each student's course and qualification*

4) Undergo the medical test at specific centres assigned by Canada High Commission
​
5) Receive biometrics submission request
​
6) Visit VFS Global centre for biometrics submission
​
7) Submit Statement of Purpose (SOP)/ Letter of Explanation (LOE)
​
8) Receive passport verification request.
​
9) Send original passport and pay the processing charge for the same
​
10) Once approved, receive passport with visa stamp on it
Note:
It's mandatory for students to purchase health cover prior to submission of the visa application. However, there is an option to choose between health cover provided by university or any other private health cover scheme.
